The Challenge and Opportunity:
The Goshen Health Foundation is preparing to undertake a major capital campaign, its first campaign since the early 1980s.  The Foundation has completed a Feasibility Study conducted by an outside firm and is preparing to raise $10 million or more as part of a larger $76 million project.

The Community:
Goshen Health is located in Goshen, Indiana and serves a four county service area with over 300,000 residents focusing on north central Indiana centering on Elkhart County.  This county has been nationally heralded for its dynamic local economy and boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in the United States.  Elkhart County produces over 60% of all recreational vehicles in the entire country.

Goshen Health is an independent, community-focused organization which is noted for its strong history of community care dating back to 1898.  Goshen Health is highly focused on serving the community while becoming a leader in health care delivery.  We are unified in our vision to provide medical care with compassion, accountability, respect and excellence.  Medical services have been continuously augmented over the years to include new departments providng physical therapy, emergency care, outpatient care, on-site imaging, laboratory and nuclear medicine, the Center for Cancer Care, Goshen Heart & Vascular Center, Goshen Retreat Women's Health Center, the Center for Weight Reduction, and Goshen Physicians with family medicine and specialty practices such as Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Goshen Health now offers in-home telehealth monitoring as well.

Today, Goshen Health and its dedicated group of physicians and clinical teams provide care from 30 locations in four counties.

  • Goshen Health has been recognized as one of the top five hospitals in the state of Indiana, according to U.S. News & World Report.
  • Goshen Health recently ranked first in the nation for overall job satisfaction, concern for patient care, and career development.
  • Goshen Hospital is the only hospital in the region to receive the MAGNET designation for nursing excellence from the American Nursing Credentialing Center and has achieved this designation three times.  Fewer than six percent of U.S. hospitals receive this prestigious designation.
  • Goshen Health is the winner of six Summit Awards.  This highly selective award recognizes facilities that perform highest in the nation for patient satisfaction.

Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of the Campaign is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to get involved with a major capital campaign on the ground floor and quickly develop fundraising skills.  The Assistant Director will report to and support the Foundation Vice President and Campaign Director in all aspects of conducting a $10 million capital campaign.

The Assistant Director will work closely with the Foundation Vice President, others on the Foundation team, the President and CEO of Goshen Health, the Campaign chair(s) and Campaign Cabinet to assist them in keeping the campaign on track and on schedule.
