The Indiana State University Foundation is the designated receiver and repository of gifts to ISU. The purpose of the Foundation is to promote the welfare of the ISU community, serve as the fundraising arm of the University, and manage the University's endowment.
The Development Officer - Major Gifts develops and maintains a portfolio of major gift suspects and prospects (major gifts defined as gifts of $25,000 and up). The position researches, identifies, and cultivates donor prospects, and meets with them personally in order to solicit them for major gift. This position also coordinates exceptional stewardship for major gift donors. It serves as a prospect manager for one or more geo-regions, as well as assignment to a particular academic unit as its Division of Development's main liaison. The position develops and executes cultivation strategies for gift prospects that meet the needs and goals of University priorities through gift solicitations. This person works with Deans, Provost, Faculty, and others to translate academic priorities into fundraising opportunities. The position identifies and utilizes fundraising resources including volunteers, faculty, staff, publications, and electronic communication tools to identify and cultivate major gift prospects.
