Chamberlain Scholarships

2010 Chamberlain Scholarship Application

2010 Chamberlain Scholarship Guidelines

Also available from AFP-IC, as well as the AFP Foundation, are scholarships for the AFP International Conference on Fundraising held each spring. To help individuals serving nonprofit organizations develop their knowledge and skill in fundraising, the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy sponsors the Chamberlain Scholarship Program. The Chamberlain Scholarship honors the memory of Ralph E. Chamberlain, CFRE.  AFP Chapters may name one $500 grant recipient per year.  The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy will pay $500 of the $510 registration fee for Chamberlain Scholars.   Depending on local resources, some chapters may award additional scholarship funds from their own treasuries. The local chapter is soliciting applications for the Chamberlain Scholarship.  These applications must be received by October 1, 2009.   Chamberlain Scholars are responsible for registering themselves for the Conference and for making all travel and lodging arrangements.

Chapters will select their Chamberlain Scholar(s) based on the following criteria, which are established by the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy and may be supplemented by criteria set by the local AFP chapter:

    *     Candidate is employed as a fundraising professional or, if candidate is an executive director, a substantial amount of time must be devoted to fundraising.

   *      Candidate has never attended an AFP (or NSFRE) International Conference on Fundraising as a registered participant (unless as a member of the Conference Host Committee).

   *      Candidate agrees to complete and return an Evaluation Form about his or her experience to the Scholarship Committee.

Only one Chamberlain Scholarship will be awarded to a member of AFP-IC.   Additional scholarship money is available from the chapter for travel and lodging expenses.  Please indicate on the attached application that you are applying for the Chamberlain Scholarship.

Finally, AFP-IC encourages members to apply for a chapter scholarship for the 2009 International Conference.   Registrations are due by October 5, 2009, to ensure that members can receive the early bird conference rate.

For all scholarships, please complete the application, email and mail or fax to Katherine M. Finley, CAE, CFRE, Executive Director, REISA and TICA Foundation, 1401 N. Meridian Street, Suite 202, Indianapolis, IN  46290  Email – kmfinley@reisa.org.  Fax – 317-815-0871.   For questions, call 317-616-4030.
